 What is neoclassicism?

The Neo-Classical style emerged in the second half of the eighteenth century and heralded the end of the mediaeval city. It takes its inspiration from Ancient Greece and Rome and its features include geometric lines, order and whiteness. Today it represents an important part of the architectural heritage of Brussels.
