Royal Museum of Fine Arts

SATURDAY 09 & SUNDAY 10 OCTOBER 2021

Meeting Point

Rue de la RĂ©gence 3, 1000 Brussels

Duration of the visit: 40 min

The central building of this museum is one of the most well-known Eclectic buildings in Brussels. Built between 1875 and 1881, it was designed by Alphonse Balat, King Leopold II's favourite architect. The Eclectic façade nevertheless uses a Classical vocabulary with its massive columns and allegorical statues representing the Fine Arts. The guided tour crosses the large central hall and ends in the Art Nouveau former Gresham Insurance building by Léon Govaert, which today is home to the Museum of Modern Art.
