Duration of guided tour: 40 min.
This private home was built in 1876 for Emile Bockstael and it forms part of a coherent group of Neo-Classical facades on the Avenue de la Reine. Its interior is laid out in traditional Brussels style: the reception rooms start with a Louis XVI salon, followed by a Louis XV salon and an Art Nouveau winter garden. In contrast, the stairwell features remarkable Egyptian-style paintings. This eclectic mix provides an authentic glimpse of a late-nineteenth-century Brussels interior. |
